Well here we again my friends getting ready for another season of that Fox Fav Show So You Think You Can Dance. I don’t know about you but I have been waiting impatiently for quite a while to see season 7, lol. It looks like season 7 is shaping up to be another awesome season with great dancers, great music, and great judges, not to mention their beautiful and gracious host Kat Deeley.
Season 7 is not going to be the same as past seasons either. There is a new format for the show that promises to electrify as well as a new addition to the lineup of judges this year. For starters there will only be 10 finalists instead of the Top 20 format we have seen in the previous 6 seasons. Choreographer Mia Michaels is the new addition to the lineup of judges also.
Perhaps the most striking change to the format for Season 7 is the inclusion of dancers from previous seasons of SYTYCD, and they are some awesome dancers too. These dancers are Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Comfort Fedoke, Courtney Galiano, Anya Garnis, Lauren Gotlieb, Neil Haskell, Allison Holker, Mark Kanemura, Pasha Kovalev, Kathryn McCormick, Ade Obayomi, and Dominic “D-trix” Sandoval. Every one of these dancers has gone on to be a consummate professional in the art of dance.
The Top 10 dancers will paired with one of the above mentioned dancers in their particular style of dance and perform before the judges each week. This will be accomplished by drawing a picture of the pro from a hat by the contestant instead of drawing the style they will perform. It appears with the selection of pros that virtually no genre of dance will be off limits either.
I also wonder if Season 7’s Top 10 dancers will be at least as good or even better than last season’s dancers were, or even season 5’s for that matter. The bar has been set ever higher with each passing season, and it has to be getting very hard to find talent that will surpass all previous performances. My only wish about the dancers for this season is that Billy Bell will be in the Top 10 this season, but we shall see.
