Thanks for visiting Simple Man Entertainment once again. We are back with the results for the week from the So You Think You Can Dance show. Last night was the results show and now we have the Top 10 dancers and I can't wait to see how the show will go from here.
The show started out with a group routine danced to "Seven Nation Army" by White Stripes. It was an incredible routine, choreographed by Napoleon and Tabitha. Probably one of the best group routines we've seen this season.
Another important note, the show was done on Nigel Lythgoe's 60th birthday, and birthday wishes were given to him from everyone in the studio. Happy Birthday Nigel!
First on stage to find out their results were Jason and Caitlin, joined by Brandon and Janette. This was a no brainer for me. Jason and Caitlin were in the bottom three, leaving Brandon and Janette safe.
Next on stage were Evan and Randi as well as Phillip and Jeanine. Now this one didn't go the way I thought it would. It actually was Phillip and Jeanine in the bottom three this week, which shocked me with the shaky performances done by Evan and Randi this week.
Then Ade and Melissa and Kupono and Kayla were out to see their results. Once again a big surprise here. It was Ade and Melissa that ended up in the bottom three, which astounded me. They've never been in the bottom before.
Next up were the solos, where the dancers in the bottom three "danced for their life." Caitlin danced first with a good routine and had nice extensions. Jason came out and did a good job, but it looked a little forced and desperate. Once again Jeanine was exquisitely beautiful, and I knew there was no way she was going home. Phillip did what he does, and of course it was awesome as usual. We got to see Melissa do a solo for the first time on the show, and she did some incredible toe work and her piece was very energetic. Ade was up last, and he performed a great solo as well.
As the judges went backstage to deliberate, DJ David Guetta and Kelly Rowland took the stage. It was the television premiere of their hit single, "When Love Takes Over." It was a nice piece with a cool sound, and was enjoyable. However, I was waiting with "ants in my pants" lol to see what the results would be.
Finally the judges were back with the results. For the girls, it was no big shock. As I predicted yesterday, it was Caitlin that was cut from the show. The guys did shock me a bit. I was expecting it to be Jason, but they actually cut Phillip. I understand why they did it, but I was so sad to see him go, since I've been a real fan of his for a couple of years.
There was good news. Nigel secured Caitlin and Phillip a place on the Top 10 tour, so they will be on the tour and performing, which I was excited to hear.
I can't wait until next week to see the Top 10 dance. I am sure it is going to be incredible. Join us next week for up to date reviews from So You Think You Can Dance. Until then, enjoy a couple videos. The first one is a solo from Jeanine from last week, which Tim and I both agreed was one of the best solos, if not the best, we have ever seen. I also posted a routine with Phillip in it and one with Caitlin to highlight these great dancers once again. Enjoy!
