Last night was the first results show for season 6 and it is bound to be a memorable show for us all and in particular the dancers. There were on or two surprises in last nights show that I didn’t expect as well, especially after some of the horrible performances on Tuesday night. It just goes to show you that the mob rules and that they will sometimes get it very wrong.
The voting sometimes saves dancers and couples from landing in the bottom three even though they deserve to be there and this is true of last nights results. I do believe that two of the couples in the bottom three did belong there in the case of Ryan and Ellenore, and Peter and Pauline. However I believe that my favorite couple Nathan and Mollee should have been there instead of Kevin and Karen.
Nigel, Mary, Adam and many of the choreographers have said that the dancers for Season 6 have even more talent than those who were in the Top 20 for Season 5 and I tend to agree. Unfortunately not one of the six dancers who danced for their lives last night proved it was true. If anything they made Nigel and company look like fools for making such a statement, because all of the solos last night were definitely sub-standard.
I will have to say that the two dancers I thought would be cut after last nights solos were the ones to go. Peter the third Tapper in this season’s Top 20 and his partner Jazz dancer Pauline. I will also tell you that despite the audiences dislike for Nigel's criticism’s he and the panel were spot on. The one bright spot in this otherwise dreary show of bad performances was the guest contemporary routine, which was excellent.
